With regard to Panasonics 4680 Kansas factory - common narrative is that other OEMs will have access to these cells and Kansas is not solely for Tesla. However I’m only aware of two other OEMs that use cylindrical cells: Rivian and Lucid. Is this who is most likely to use Kansas-made cells? Would Pana also make a different format in the same factory?
You're right that it's unclear who the non-Tesla customers will be. The press releases say the factory is primarily for Tesla but doesn't mention any other OEMs. I suspect we'll get more details once the factory is closer to completion, at which point other OEMs may have updated their battery plans to include cylindrical formats. At least one OEM (GM) is unlikely given their approach using pouch cells
Thanks for the concise update
This is a great initiative, thanks for the effort to inform us.

Just my current unknowns.
